Privacy Policy
Piping Toolset is built so that the interesting data — your engineering work — stays on your machine. This policy describes the little we do collect, why, and the services that process it. Effective 2026-07-20.
- Calculation inputs never leave your device. Every calculator runs in your browser.
- No account is needed for any calculator. Accounts exist only to sync a paid subscription.
- Payments are handled by Stripe's hosted checkout — card numbers never touch our systems.
- We run Google Analytics for anonymous usage measurement with all advertising signals disabled; in the EEA/UK/Switzerland analytics storage is denied by default.
- We do not sell or share personal information for advertising. There are no ads.
1. What stays on your device
All calculators, report assembly, and project (.pcp) handling run entirely in your browser. Inputs, results, project files, report contents, and app settings are processed locally and, where saved, live in your browser's local storage or in files you download to your machine. They are not transmitted to us and we cannot see them. Clearing your browser storage removes the local copies.
2. Accounts (optional)
Signing in is only needed to sync a paid subscription across devices. Authentication is a passwordless email magic link, operated on Supabase (our hosted database and auth provider). When you create an account we store your email address, a user id, and standard authentication metadata (e.g. sign-in timestamps). We do not collect names, phone numbers, or profile data.
3. Subscriptions and payments
Checkout and card processing are performed by Stripe on Stripe-hosted pages governed by Stripe's own privacy policy — your card details go to Stripe, never to us. To operate your subscription we store an entitlement record: your subscription tier, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, and the current billing-period end date. Receipts, cancellation, and billing self-service are provided through Stripe's customer portal.
4. Cloud-saved drawings (Pro Plus, user-initiated)
The one deliberate exception to "nothing leaves your device": if you choose Save to cloud or Share in the ISO Drawing tool, that project (its name and drawing data) is stored in our database (Supabase) under your account so you can retrieve it elsewhere or share it by link. Share links work for anyone holding the link token; you can revoke a share or delete a cloud project at any time from the tool, which removes it from our database.
5. Usage analytics
We measure anonymous product usage with Google Analytics 4: pages and calculator routes viewed, coarse device/browser type, approximate region, and which calculator cards are launched from our landing pages. Calculation inputs and results are never sent to analytics. All advertising signals (ad storage, ad user data, ad personalization) are disabled everywhere. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, analytics storage is additionally denied by default — no analytics cookies are set there, which is why we don't show a cookie banner. We do not receive raw IP addresses from Analytics.
6. Service providers
| Provider | Role | What they process |
|---|---|---|
| Netlify | Site and function hosting | Standard web-server request logs (IP address, user agent) for delivery and security |
| Supabase | Authentication and database | Account email, entitlement records, cloud-saved ISO projects |
| Stripe | Payments | Checkout, card, and subscription data under Stripe's privacy policy |
| Analytics | Anonymous usage events as described above |
We share personal data with no one else, and we never sell it.
7. Retention
Account and entitlement records are kept while your account exists; cloud-saved projects until you delete them; analytics data per Google Analytics' configured retention period; Stripe retains transaction records to meet its financial-compliance obligations. To close your account and have its data deleted, email us — we will action it promptly, subject to records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes.
8. Your rights
You can request a copy, correction, or deletion of the personal data we hold about you by emailing support@pipingtoolset.com. If you are in a jurisdiction with statutory data-protection rights (for example the EEA/UK GDPR or the California CCPA), those rights apply to the data described here; we do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, and we honor verified requests without discrimination.
9. Children
The service is professional engineering tooling and is not directed at children under 16; we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes and contact
Piping Toolset is operated by Flexible Piping Solutions LLC, the data controller for the personal data described here. Material changes to this policy will be posted with an updated effective date. Questions and requests: support@pipingtoolset.com. See also the terms of use.
